Could this tiny vintage ashtray's design be a little nod to the devil's lettuce? The compact size was meant to fit in your purse or dinner jacket pocket for tidy and discreet smoking at a social soirée.
The enamel paint job of this little personal ashtray is in mint condition. A tiny bit of wear on the back, to be expected since this piece was made circa 1950! Ashtray measures approximately 1.5" square and 1/2" tall.
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
About the Maker
Stratton Ltd. was initially established in 1860 as a maker of knitting needles. They eventually merged with another country in 1920 and expanded to small metalwork of all kinds. They became most renowned for their cosmetics packaging solutions, producing at least half of the powder compacts and lipstick holders for Britain's makeup industry by 1939. The company is still in business today.
