Officially founded in 1897, The Champigneulles brewery is steeped in legend. Story has it that beer production at the site dates back more than a thousand years: St. Arnold, patron saint of brewers, is said to have filled the empty barrels of thirsty pilgrims with ale when they were processing with his relics circa 640 A.D. About the Maker
The Champigneulles brewery hit its peak in the 1950s and 1960s. It was the official sponsor of the Tour de France for more than a decade, and it sponsored the 1968 Olympic Games. It was a household name in France.
