The Long Form - A guaranteed-to-have-a-good-time wedding? The season we've all been waiting for is here. No, not summer - wedding season! Everyone looks forward to love, tears, and drunk uncles - but maybe there's a better way?
While introducing weed to weddings is a fairly fresh - and maybe scary? - concept for newly out-of-the-cannabis-closet consumers, there are actually quite a few success stories online. Bridal Musings, an international resource and publication for hopeless romantics, featured this gorgeous gallery of inspiration; The Atlantic talks about how grandma may be cooler about cannabis than you think; and Wedding chicks sourced a gorgeous hemp and silk wedding dress, amongst other their ideas for subtly incorporating weed into your nuptials.
Now don’t get us wrong - we know that we can’t all be stunning multicultural stylish lesbian couples and work for Harbourside cannabis like the examples above, but don’t let the fabulous photos make you think that these ideas are beyond your budget.
A cannabis ceremony doesn’t have to be ‘bougie’. Most people who throw a weed-inspired wedding find that they spend much less than if they had an open bar. Have your cousin/friend/aunt/granddad grow some plants for the party and you could supply your own cannabis (and even floral arrangements!) at a very low cost.
The most important thing, if you ask us, is to carefully consider how your particular group of guests might prefer to engage. If you’re planning to have cannabis at your wedding, let’s face it, you’re kind of a hipster. Sorry! - by that, we mean, you’re an early adopter, you’re on the leading edge, you’re helping to shape the culture. You'll want to think about curating your selection and having someone on hand to help guide your guest's consumption choices, so that whether you're a veteran or new to cannabis, it will be a wedding to remember.
